It's time for Congress to pass legislation that establishes marijuana policy as a states' rights issue. If a state decides to legalize, regulate, and tax marijuana, there should be no interference from the federal government.
Although recreational, adult-use marijuana is now legal in 10 states and the District of Columbia, and medical marijuana is legal in 32 states and the District of Columbia, federal law presents many challenges to marijuana businesses and regulators.
Bipartisan legislation introduced by Sens. Cory Gardner (R-CO) and Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) would protect states that legalize and regulate marijuana. The STATES Act is the most significant piece of marijuana-related legislation ever introduced in Congress.
Please contact your senators and representative today and tell them to pass the STATES Act to allow states to make their own decisions on marijuana policy.
